“The Longest runway” at London Fashion Week SS23

It has always been my dream to showcase my very own collection at London Fashion Week, as my career has progressed since graduating, things have taken a turn as Fashion Show Live approached me to showcase at LFW 22. Since I was a little girl it has been a dream to be as big as Alexander McQueen, Channel, Balmain, Fendi, Marc Jacobs and all the designers emerging within the fashion industry. But showcasing for the first time for LFW is one of my biggest achievements to date.

Throughout this summer I have been working on my 10/11 look collection for Spring/Summer 23 and have been working hard in making this work, just within my own little studio which is located in my bedroom.

Showcasing at London Fashion Week has open many doors and opportunities to really bring Cassine up the ladder and grow as a brand. Cassine will hopefully brake the barriers within the industry and really represent what Cassine’s authenticity is about.

Working on a 10/11 look runway, has not been easy, especially working as a one man band for this brand. On top of having a family, responsibilities, everything has to be organised, planned out. Remember not everything is perfect, some things can not turn out how you wanted it to be, but trying to make it work, that’s something am passionate about.

I was able to produce my full runway within the time frame, as the show was on the 17th September 2022. It was more harder as I was unable to even meet the models before hand as I could of known how well the fit could be on them, but I had to make it work like I said before. I was also featured on Fashion Show Live’s website about my fashion label ahead of the show, via the link below.

The day of the show, I travelled to Twickenham stadium in the morning so I could get there and prep for the show, get my models ready, fit them, getting the MUA’s and hairstylists for my inspo on the look I wanted.

While I was waiting for makeup and hair, I started to prepare the models looks. There were some assistants and lots of photographers as well which was nice, as I got their contacts and was able to work with majority of the people that was part of LFW.

The models hair and makeup was done, we headed down to get the models to practice their walks and how the runway was going to look. I also was able to discuss directly with the engineer how my music was going to run as well which was quite exciting to see when the models were practicing their walks.

SHOW time! guest have been arriving and I needed to get myself ready as well. I was so excited, and nervous at the same time, I couldn’t believe this was happening. When it was my turn to showcase, and it was the final walk through with the designer, I couldn’t believe how much people even came to see this! It was such a great turn out, to see all these photographers on each end of the runway was unbelievable! The best experience of my life, to see all these peoples phones out, cheering for me was on another level.

After the show, I was then receiving messages from everyones, tags on my socials, photographers following me, tagging me sending me the pictures they took, also videos. People were sharing my work on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, it was amazing to see.
